A seven-year-old girl was killed while her parents and brother suffered injuries when their house caught fire at Avas Vikas colony here.

The fire, which was allegedly caused by a gas leakage, triggered an explosion, after which the neighbours called in the fire brigade who put out the blaze, according to witnesses.

The injured, including the 14-year-old brother of the girl, have been admitted to hospital, where their condition is said to be serious.

Meanwhile, police has arrested five people from Pengu village of Bah tehsil here for allegedly killing one Anand Kumar and throwing his body into a well.

Anand Kumar's brother, Man Singh had lodged a report with the police following the recovery of his body from the well by villagers.

Anand allegedly had a long-pending dispute with Ram Snaehi and four others over non-payment of dues.
