A girl was allegedly physically assaulted by six youths who captured the video of the incident on a cellphone and circulated it on Whatsapp, police said today.
The incident took place on March 15 when the girl confronted the youths who were beating up her male friend. The accused took her to a secluded spot, physically assaulted her, made a video of the act and shared it on Whatsapp, police said.
Superintendent of police Dipika Tewari, who met the girl yesterday, directed for lodging of a case in this connection.
Police said four of the accused youths - identified as Ramu, Pankaj, Sheelu and Dara Singh - have been arrested and search was on to nab the two others - Sanjay and Ravi.
District Magistrate Shamim Ahmed Khan said orders have been issued to take an action against the accused under the Goonda Act.
