A minor girl from Jharkhand was
allegedly raped by an unidentified person here, police said today.
On Thursday midnight, the victim, who was in a disoriented condition, wandered into the house of a Sarpanch of Ghumanpura village, SSP Amritsar (Rural) Jasdeep Singh said.
Sarpanch Gurmeet Kaur told the police that the family later realised that the girl was in a traumatised state following which they informed the police.
The SSP said that girl is still in trauma and unable to talk to anyone and added that her medical examination has been carried out.
He said her exact age couldn't be ascertained and added that police was also trying to find out her antecedents and family members.
A case has been registered against an unidentified accused and he girl was today sent to Nari Niktan here, he added.
