A 10-year-old girl died today after being hit by a jeep used for electioneering in Kandhamal bypoll at Dudimandi in Khajuripada police station in Kandhamal district, the police said.
Angry over the incident, villagers staged a road blockde at Dudimandi and damaged at least two vehicles passing through the road, inspector-in-charge (IIC), Khajuripada, MM Prodhan said.
The vehicle which alegedly carried the supporters of BJD with the party symbol in it ran over the girl when she was walking on the road, he said.
