A nine-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually exploited by a man for past many days died at GTB Hospital while undergoing treatment, police said today.
An FIR in this connection was registered under the provision of POCSO Act on a complaint by mother of the girl, at Khajuri Khas police station in North East Delhi, on July 13.

With the death of the girl we are awaiting for her post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death so that further charges if any may be pressed against the accused, the officer said.
The victim and the accused had their houses in the same lane of Sri Ram Colony in North East Delhi. The nine year old girl who was a student of class II was lured by the accused by offering her eatables and used to take her to his home but no one suspected his motive, said the officer.
Relatives of the girl accused that Bihari had been sexually exploiting her for many days but she did not say anything about it out of fear.
The girl finally told her mother about her ordeal when she fell ill and developed high fever on July 4, they said.
The girl failed to recover from her illness and was admitted to a children' hospital in Geeta Colony on July 10.
When her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to GTB Hospital yesterday where she succumbed to her illness in the night.
