According to the police, the girl, identified as Pinki, escaped with minor injuries while the attacker Deepak Kumar, has been arrested.

Police said that Deepak fired pellets from his air gun when he was standing at the balcony of his house and Pinki was riding pillion on her father's scooter last night.

Deepak, who is a second year engineering student in a private institute in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, told police that he did not hit her intentionally and it was a test fire to check if the gun was working. He was, however, arrested for causing hurt to the victim.
