A 14-year-old school girl today
drowned in Vaniyar Dam, 48 km from here, but two others were rescued, police said.
The girls were part of a group of students of Government Higher Secondary School at Jammanahalli visiting the dam site.
While washing their hands in the water, the three girls slipped and fell. Teachers and students managed to rescue two but the other girl drowned.
Police and Fire service personnel recovered the body.
A case has been registered following a complaint from the deceased girl's mother, police said.
