An undergraduate student was crushed to death when a motorbike she was travelling on collided with a speeding truck following which irate villagers blocked the highway, police said here today.
The accident took place on the Delhi-Dehradun highway near Chaper village yesterday when the speeding truck collided with the bike killing the victim Shikha Singh, daughter of Rajvir, police said.
Following the accident, irate villagers blocked the highway and protested over the incident.
Police have arrested the accused truck driver Kalu in this connection.
Meanwhile,in a second incident, 16-year-old Kuldeep was crushed to death when the bike on which he was travelling collided with a speeding truck near Chitora village in the district, police said.
