Girls outshine boys in Maharashtra State Board HSC results

The passing percentage for girls was 90.50, compared to 83.46 of boys

Girls outperformed boys in the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Class 12 examinations, the results of which were declared on Wednesay.

The overall passing percentage in the state stood at 86.60. The passing percentage for girls was 90.50, compared to 83.46 of boys.

The results for all the nine divisions - Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur and Konkan - were simultaneously declared today.

Over 13,19,754 students appeared in the Class XII exam this year and out of them 11,42,882 passed.

Konkan division scored highest passing percentage with 93.29 whereas Nashik was lowest with 83.99 in the state.
 
The division wise number of candidates registered, appeared for exam, passed and the passing percentage, respectively is as follows:

Pune - 2,18,574, 2,18,233, 1,90,422, 87.26;

Nagpur- 1,55,896, 1,55,728, 1,34,473, 86.35;

Aurangabad - 1,38,557, 1,38,181, 1,21,329, 87.80;

Mumbai - 2,99,869, 2,99,541, 2,57,849, 86.08;

Kolhapur- 1,20,852, 1,20,619, 1,06,262, 88.10;

Amravati- 1,31,717, 1,31,571, 1,12,906, 85.81;

Nashik- 1,48,708, 1,48,475, 1,24,707, 83.99;

Latur- 75,352, 75,123, 64,818, 86.28; and

Konkan- 32,296, 32,283, 30,116, 93.29.

The overall figures for the state are: 13,21,821, 13,19,754, 11,42,882 and 86.60.
