Girls outperformed boys in the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education class 12th examinations, the results of which have been declared today.
The overall pass percentage in the state stood at 86.60. The passing percentage for girls was 90.50, compared to 83.46 of boys.
The results for all the nine divisions - Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur and Konkan - were simultaneously declared today.

Konkan division scored highest passing percentage with 93.29 whereas Nashik was lowest with 83.99 in the state.
The division wise number of candidates registered, appeared for exam, passed and the passing percentage, respectively is as follows:
Pune - 2,18,574, 2,18,233, 1,90,422, 87.26;
Nagpur- 1,55,896, 1,55,728, 1,34,473, 86.35;
Aurangabad - 1,38,557, 1,38,181, 1,21,329, 87.80;

The overall figures for the state are: 13,21,821, 13,19,754, 11,42,882 and 86.60.

Meanwhile, the result of the Nashik Division was 83.99 per cent. The Division comprises four districts namely Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar.
82.90 per cent result was announced for Nashik district, 88.57 per cent for Dhule, 83.46 per cent for Jalgaon and 83.37 percent for Nandurbar, board officials said.
85.81 per cent result was announced for the Amravati Division which comprises five districts - Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Washim and Yavatmal.
Buldana posted result of 87.89 per cent, followed by Akola (87.23 per cent), Amravati (86.03 per cent), Washim (85.02 per cent) and Yavatmal (82.83 per cent), officials said.
