Extending his support to the demand of unification of three municipal corporations in the city, BJP MP Maheish Girri has asked his party legislators to raise the issue in the Delhi Assembly.
Girri, who represents East Delhi in Parliament, had last week also raised the demand for unification of three municipal corporations in the ongoing session of the Lok Sabha.
The erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was trifurcated in 2012 into North, South and East Delhi Municipal Corporations by the then Sheila Dikshit government.

Girri in his letter has asked Delhi BJP legislators to raise the demand for unifying the municipal corporations in the Assembly.
The MP said that he has already written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unification of the municipal corporations.
He has also sought an appointment to meet the Prime Minister to discuss and press for the unification demand, said a statement from his office.
