BJP MP Maheish Girri from east Delhi today declared that he would adopt all 44 villages in his constituency under the MPs Model Village scheme.
However, Girri said that 'Chilla' village would be the first to be modelled under the scheme that has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We need to strengthen 3 Cs - Capacity, Culture and Confidence for the holistic development of our intended model village and are ready to explore the strengths of private, cooperative and voluntary sectors to capacitate these villages, starting on with Chilla," he said in a statement.
Girri also said that he will turn all the 44 villages into successful models within his present tenure by 2019.
