Gitanjali Gems today reported a 70.6 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 50.46 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 172.18 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.
Consolidated total income fell by 37 per cent to Rs 2,759.61 crore in the October-December quarter this fiscal from Rs 4,377.42 crore in the same quarter of 2012-13 fiscal.
Shares of the company today rose by 2.28 per cent to close at Rs 65.05 apiece from its previous BSE closing.
