Party President Sharad Yadav talked to Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde this morning who is learnt to have assured him that all required assistanace will be extended to Tomar's family members.
Yadav also met family members of the victim and visited the hospital where the postmortem was carried out. Yadav assured the family members that all possible help will be extended to them.
"Tomar was the sole bread-earner for his family and his death has come as a great catastrophe to the family members. I have requested the Home Minister to provide all possible help to the constable's family," Yadav said.
"JD-U expresses deep grief and sorrow over the death of Delhi police constable Subhash Chandra Tomar, who was injured at India Gate, and demands compensation to the aggrieved family," party General Secretary Javed Raza said in a press release.
The 47-year-old Tomar died today after battling for life in a city hospital. Subhash Chand Tomar was on ventilator since his admission at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Sunday evening.
