Slamming the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their alleged "anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh stance", Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the people to defeat them.
Addressing a gathering during a political conference to mark 'Gurta Gaddi Diwas' of Guru Angad Dev here in Tarn Taran district, he alleged that the Congress had "irrelevantly meddled in political, social, economic and even religious affairs" of the people.
"There is no parallel example in world history when the government of the country had attacked its own religious shrine as done by Congress on Sri Darbar Sahib...," he alleged.

Targeting AAP, Badal said it was also suffering from "anti-Sikh syndrome which was reflected through series of steps taken by its leadership."
The five-time Chief Minister alleged both these parties were "now hell bent upon ruining the state".
"Even those forces that want to disturb the hard earned peace of state were hobnobbing with these parties to bring back black days in the state," he alleged.
Badal called upon the people to thwart the attempt of such forces.
He claimed that only SAD-BJP alliance was committed for "strengthening the ethos of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood in the state".
The Chief Minister claimed support for alliance government in the state was infact the support for "peace and progress of Punjab".
"You must adopt a cautious approach for securing the future of your younger generations by supporting the alliance in the upcoming assembly polls in the state," Badal said.
Coming down heavily on state Congress leadership, he asked the people "not to trust" them as they were "chronic liars".
He reminded the people that the top Congress leaders of the country "had not given Punjab its capital and Punjabi speaking areas despite promising it in Parliament".
