BJP general secretary Ram Madhav today appealed to the youth to give up the pursuit of government jobs and become self-employed while contributing to Prime Minister's 'Make in India' mission.
"Youth should give up the desire for 'sarkari rozgar'. They should create an opportunity for a job for themselves and also employ ten other youth," the BJP leader said.
He was addressing a special session at Indian Youth Parliament organised by 'Yuva Morcha'.
"Every year, two crore youth are employable and out of which only 20 lakh youth get government jobs. Remaining 1.80 lakh still wait for employment," Madhav said.
"Youth should make such programs due to which imports could be reduced and export of indigenous products could be raised," he said.
Youth should work in infrastructure sector under 'Make In India' mission, he said.
"Youth can get cash loan of Rs 10 lakh without any guaranty and stress should be on self-employment. Our Indians are giving jobs to foreigners in Silicon Vally in USA. India needs employment generation skills so that joblessness can be reduced," he said.
The former RSS leader appealed to the youth to come forward and also create opportunity for others.
"India is a young nation and the youth should change the image and scene of the country with innovations," Madhav said, adding "we have to give up self-centredness and youth should come forward as 50 per cent of population are youth...Even 10 to 15 per cent youths in Parliament... Maharashtra got a youngest CM."
Noting that India had an ancient civilisation and history, Madhav said as per new census figures, 74 per cent people are literate and most of them are intelligent enough to to change the country's future and image.
It was shameful that India was also known as a corrupt nation despite there being sufficient laws to curb it, the BJP leader said, adding, "laws are there but people find in-laws to save themselves from rules, acts, and police.
