The All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) donated Rs 1.23 crore today to the Prime Minister's National Relief Dund for rehabilitation of Nepal earthquake victims on behalf of jewellers of the country.
Appreciating the donation offered by several members to GJF Chairman Manish Jain said, "The domestic gem and jewellery makers came together and collected the money in aid of the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. The Nepal tragedy is undoubtedly one of the worst in the history of civilisation and we applaud the government's efforts for its proactive measures in extending aid to the people of Nepal".
Jain handed over the cheque to BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi, yesterday.
