Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today said that terrorism should be treated as a challenge to human kind and the global community will have to come together to combat terrorism.

Speaking at the Valediction session of the three-day International Conference on Counter Terrorism here, Rijiju said that terrorism was not the problem of one country and has instead spread to different parts of the world.

He expressed concern on the current security scenario and said the challenges of countering terrorism were increasing day by day and the nation have to be ready always to control the situation.

"For this, the police forces and other stakeholders need to be trained accordingly to counter terrorism," he said.

He said that the war of terrorism has to be fought by the society.

Giving the example of how terror groups like ISIS are trying hard to capture young minds, Rijiju said that the parents and Indian society have been able to prevent young people from joining such groups.

Rijiju said that the country needs a professionally- managed counter terrorism school and invited think tanks and the other stakeholders to collaborate in this regard.
