Soybean prices were higher by Rs 36 to Rs 3,733 per quintal in futures trade today after speculators raised exposure in sync with positive leads from overseas markets.

Market players said an upward trend in soybean prices was mostly supported by widening of bets by participants, triggered by a firm trend overseas.

Besides, a firming trend in edible oils supported the upside in prices, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, soybean for delivery in May spurted by Rs 36 or 0.97 per cent to Rs 3,733 per quintal, having an open interest of 60,400 lots.

The June contract was quoting higher by Rs 34 or 0.91 per cent to Rs 3,788 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,42,550 lots.
