Taking firm cues from global market, silver traded higher by 0.74 per cent to Rs 46,225 per kg in futures trading today as participants created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September month rose by Rs 339, or 0.74 per cent to Rs 46,225 per kg in business turnover of 2,566 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in December contracts gained Rs 342, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 47,332 per kg in 138 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders in tandem with a firm trend overseas mainly led to rise in silver prices at futures trade.
Globally, silver was trading 0.41 per cent higher at USD 19.69 an ounce in Singapore.
