Global cues, spot demand lift lead futures 0.24%

Delivery in July contracts was up 0.20%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Taking positive cues from the global market and rising demand in the domestic spot market, lead futures prices today rose 0.24 per cent to Rs 123.75 per kg as speculators built up positions.

Lead for delivery in June contracts edged higher by 30 paise, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 123.75 per kg, with a turnover of 119 lots while delivery in July contracts was up 20 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 124.30 per kg in a turnover of just 1 lot.

Marketmen said the rise was mostly supported by rising demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market and firming trend in industrial metals at the London Metal Exchange.
