Global firms to explore sourcing avenues from India at IEOS

Leading global companies such as Fiat, Home Depot and SECO are participating in the India Engineering Outsourcing Show (IEOS), which is starting tomorrow, to explore sourcing avenues from the country.

The three-day event will provide a platform to 310 international and Indian engineering firms, including big players like BHEL, Bajaj Steel Industries, Finolex Cable, HECL, Kirloskar Brothers, Atul Auto, Mazagon Dock, MMTC and SIDBI, event's organiser EEPC India said.

Global giants like automobile major Fiat from Italy, Home Depot from the US and Spanish firm SECO are aiming to explore sourcing avenues for their businesses in India, it said.

The exhibition also has a programme based on the theme of the government's Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan this year.
 

The focus sectors in this year's edition include Industrial Supplies & Subcontracting; Metal & Shop Floor Expo; Industrial & Electrical Machinery; Automotive Component; Innovation and Technology; Retail Engineering and Investments & Engineering Project Exports.

The engineering sector is among the top two contributors to the overall Indian export basket. States like Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are also participating in the show this year.
