GNA launches anti-encroachment drive, frees 125 acre of land

Greater Noida Authority today removed encroachments from 125 care of land after demolishing unauthorised construction in Khairpur Gujjar village area, an official said.

A Greater Noida Authority (GNA) demolition team, led by its Additional Chief Executive Officer Manvinder Singh and forces from state police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) freed the land in Sector 3 of the village which was encroached upon by land mafias, he said.

The Authority had acquired the land in 2007, and floated a scheme in 2008 to allot plot of land.

A total of 3,000 plots of 120 and 200 square metres were allotted to various persons, who were to be given possession by 2013.
 

But it could not happen as majority of land was encroached by land mafias, the official added.
