Pitching for "an important role" for her party in the next Union government, AIADMK supremo and Chief Minsiter Jayalalithaa today asked her party workers to visit each and every household and seek votes for the party to protect the rights of Tamil Nadu.

"To protect the rights of Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK should have a significant participatory role in the Central government," she said in a letter to party workers.

For AIADMK to find ways for a resurgent Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, an important role at the Centre was important for the party. Hence, it was imperative to win all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu (39) and the Union Territory, Jayalalithaa, who has been intensely campaigning for her party criss-crossing the state since March 3, said.

Stating that it should be the goal of every party worker to secure a "complete victory", she urged them to go to every household and seek votes by explaining the party standpoint.

She alleged that the DMK ministers, while in office at the Centre, plundered the country's wealth in all possible ways including the Sethusamudram canal project and the BSNL hitech phone lines scam.

"If the ten-year deterioration (during UPA regime) is not set right now, India will be pushed to a state wherein it would not be possible to resurrect it for several generations to come," she added.
