Goa: 4 women booked for assaulting lady

Four women have been booked for allegedly assaulting a lady and making its video clip viral, police said today.

As per the complaint lodged at Women's Police Station here yesterday, the accused - Poonam Pilarnkar, Jayashree Naik, Sonia Pilarnkar and another woman - stopped the complainant when she was proceeding to work after dropping her child at a school in Porvorim village, a senior police officer said.

The incident took place on February 3 when the complainant woman was riding a two-wheeler, the officer said.

The four accused stopped the woman, abused and assaulted her and recorded it on their cell phones, the officer said, adding as per the complaint, the video clip was then uploaded on social media.
 

A case under sections 341 (wrongful restrain), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 323 (causing hurt) of IPC has been registered in this regard, police said, adding investigation was on.
