Goa BJP today exuded confidence that its alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) will continue for the Assembly polls scheduled to be held next year.

"People are happy with the performance of BJP-MGP government in the state. We will continue our alliance with them even for the forthcoming Assembly election," BJP's Goa unit president Vinay Tendulkar said.

There are no differences between BJP and MGP and both combined together provide good governance in Goa, he said.

Tendulkar's comments came two days after MGP chief Dipak Dhavalikar said the party workers are not happy with BJP's treatment to them and will decide on the alliance three months prior to the election.

The state BJP chief also said the party will win 26 out of the total 40 seats on its own in the Assembly polls scheduled to take in place in 2017.

Referring to the criticism by Congress, Tendulkar said the party is currently infested with internal bickering which it should get cured first before commenting on others.
