Goa scored a convincing 2-0 win over West Bengal in their opening match of the Coca Cola Cup football final round, played at Benaulim ground here today.
Both the teams played a positive game as they tried to gauge each other's strengths. Goa, who enjoyed more ball possession, surged ahead in the 30th minute through Niraj Parekh to have them leading 1-0 at half time.
Changing over they maintained possession and Aaron Barreto, who troubled the rival defense, then made sure that his team collected full points when he scored in the 77th minute.
