Press Trust of India New Delhi
Goa Carbon, a part of the Dempo Group, today said its Chattisgarh unit has resumed operations after a 12-day shutdown for want of raw material.

"... The operations of the (Bilaspur) unit have resumed from January 22," Goa Carbon said in a BSE filing today.

The unit of the calcined petroleum coke producer was shut down on January 10 on account of non-availability of suitable raw material.

Goa Carbon had acquired the calcination unit in 1999 with a capacity of 40,000 tonnes per annum (tpa). Two years later, it had also bought a unit at Paradeep in Odisha having 1.25 tpa capacity. It has another 75,000 tpa capacity in southern Goa.

The company had clocked Rs 72.33 crore revenue during the October-December quarter.
