Goa Church has asked its priests and parishioners to go green on November 2, which is observed as All Souls Day with graves across the state being decorated in the memory of the people who left for heavenly abode.
Caritas Goa, a wing of Goa Church, has issued advisory to all the Churches and Chapels in the State asking them to forbid the use of plastic and other toxic items to decorate graves so as to prevent pollution and protect environment.
"We are on the eve of season of several celebrations in our parishes. Immediately, we will have the All Souls Day where we will decorate the graves where bundles of plastics, thermocol, foam and silver foil will be used," the letter reads.
