Rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar-led Goa Suraksha Manch today accused Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar of trying to "take over" various educational institutes being managed by their members, a charge dismissed by the CM.
"The general body members of the educational institutes run by leaders of Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (the parent body of GSM) are being pressurised to accept resolution against them (the BBSM leaders)," GSM president Anand Shirodkar said addressing a press conference here.
He alleged that around 18 out of total 32 general body members of 'Vidya Prabhodhini Educational Complex', located at Porvorim near here, were called by the Chief Minister to his residence, where they were pressurised to sign the resolution "devaluing" Velingkar.

Similar attempts are being made in various other educational institutions as well, he alleged.
Velingkar and Parsekar are having a running feud over the issues of adoption of regional languages as the medium of instruction in schools, which is supported by BBSM.
Velingkar had also demanded to stop government aid to English medium schools. His stance against BJP government and the vow to fight upcoming polls in Goa under the aegis of GSM had led to his ouster from Konkan 'prant' (region) of RSS. Velingkar and his supporters then formed RSS Goa 'Prant'.
"Some parents were forced by the Chief Minister to approach management of K B Hedgewar School wherein they (parents) asked management to stop allowing BBSM to hold their meetings in school complex," Shirodkar claimed.
Hedgewar School, located at Bambolim near here, had hosted several meetings including the crucial one wherein Velignkar-led RSS faction had rebelled.
Shirodkar said all attempts are being made by state government to break the political movement built by GSM.
Reacting to the allegations, Parsekar said, "We have not influenced anyone nor will ever try to influence anyone. These are just allegations."
Recently, Shiv Sena gave its in-principle nod to contest upcoming elections in Goa against the ruling BJP in collaboration with GSM.
