A House Committee, probing the alleged nexus of politicians with foreign narcotic lobbies operating in Goa, today sought one-month extension to submit its report before the Speaker of Legislative Assembly here.

Legislator Fransisco Miccky Pacheco, who heads the Committee, told PTI that he has already moved an application before Speaker Rajendra Arlekar seeking one more month for the report submission.

"I have asked one more month of time which is required to gather more documents related to the case," Pacheco said.

The Committee was supposed to table its report for the ongoing session of the Assembly, which culminates today after sitting for 28 days.

Pacheco did not reveal from where the committee is expected to source more documents, but sources close to him said that the police department, which was probing the nexus, is yet to hand over several crucial documents to the committee, despite repeated summons.

The committee formed last year was mandated with the probe on alleged involvement of politicians including former Home Minister Ravi Naik's son, Roy, in the drug selling nexus, which was exposed by Swedish model Lucky Farmhouse.

Pacheco-led Committee had also put under scanner several police officers who shielded this nexus.

The investigations about this nexus were shifted from Crime branch to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The committee was supposed to submit its report by December last year, but then had sought extension till this assembly session.

In recent past, Pacheco had claimed that the committee's report would run into at least 50,000 pages including the annexure.

A senior member of the committee saud that the draft report was submitted to members during the current assembly session, but some of them expressed their reservation demanding deeper probe into involvement of Roy.
