The Goa government today said it will not issue excise licence to dance bars in the state.

"I will not give excise licence to dance bars in Goa," Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters after the state Cabinet meeting here.

Rather, if any of the bars are doubling up as dance bars, their excise licence would be withdrawn, he said.

The police during recent raids had closed down few of the bars where women dancers were found performing, especially in the coastal belt of Calangute.

The state police is continuing crackdown on prostitution dens in the coastal belt by conducting raids on such places.
