A senior official of the Goa Industrial Development Corporation here (GIDC) was arrested for allegedly taking bribe of Rs one lakh from a complainant, police said today.
State-run GIDC's field manager Dilip Malvankar was arrested last night by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau while he was accepting Rs one lakh bribe to allot a plot at Tuem industrial estate, police spokesman John Aguiyar said.
The official had sought bribe from the complainant to allot land for the proposed Ayurvedic medicine production project in the industrial estate, he said.
Malvankar has been booked under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, he added.
