Goa government will notify the much-awaited Right of Citizens to Time-bound Delivery of Public Services Act by tomorrow, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said today.

In the first phase, 14 different services would be covered under the Act, he said.

"The Act makes it mandatory for these services to be delivered within a stipulated timeframe," he said.

A few sections of this Act which deal with criminal liability with the errant officers, have been kept on hold, pending the review of the initial implementation, he added.

Services like residence certificates, income certificate, NOC to transport dead bodies, birth certificates in panchayat and municipality and others would be covered under the Act.

The chief minister said that out of the 14 services, the first five would be covered by March 1 this year, while others would be covered by June 1.

"Though the Act would help in curtailing corruption, it won't be able to eliminate it," Parrikar said.
