Goa has received Rs 81.69 crore loans under Mudra Yojana

Goa has received Rs 81.69 crore worth of loans under the Centre's Mudra Yojana and the scheme has till now benefited over 7,300 people in the state, said Union minister Shripad Naik today.

He said under the scheme the Centre has approved loans to 9.13 crore beneficiaries throughout the country.

"In Goa, loans to the tune of Rs 81.69 crore have been approved for 7,319 beneficiaries," Naik said.

The minister, an MP from Goa, was speaking at an event organised to promote the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

The scheme is designed to meet the financing needs of non-corporate small business units of the country. The idea is to provide financial support for small business which employ majority of the Indian working population.
