Goa Congress claimed that the "good" turnout of voters today shows that they were fed up with the BJP government in the state and wanted to vote for Congress.

"The response of people is very good. People are turning up in large numbers to vote," said Goa Congress Chief John Fernandes, who predicted 85% voting by evening.

"People are fed up with the BJP government and hence have come out openly to vote for Congress. They have come out in large numbers to show their resentment against BJP," he said.

According to officials, 35% voters have cast their ballot till 11 am today.

Congress, which is fighting both- South Goa and North Goa- seats, expressed confidence that it would surely win the election. "We will win both the seats. There is absolutely no doubt about it," Fernandes said.
