Goa Tourism plans to rope in Bollywood personalities and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as its tourism brand ambassador.
"There are various proposals received by state tourism department to brand Goa," state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar told reporters today.
Parulekar said matinee idols like Deepika Padakone, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar are being considered for being appointed Goa's brand ambassador.
He said Goa would brand itself in tourism sector after hosting various roadshows across the country.
After five per cent growth in tourism sector last year, a growth of 15 per cent growth has been been forecast for the coming season.
Chartered flights would increase from 1025 to 1250 this year, with new operators planning operations to Goa, he said.
Goa received 2.6 million tourists last year, he said.
