Goa police have sought help of their Bihar counterpart in connection with alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl in the eastern state who was recently found pregnant here.

A 15-year-old girl was found pregnant at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital last week, when she was brought here for medical treatment.

The hospital administration had informed police about it as the girl was minor.

The girl, who lives with her parents here, during interrogation, told police that she was raped by a person at her native place in Bihar, during her visit there.

"She had gone to meet her brother there. Both the victim and accused are known to each other," a police official said today.

Goa police sent a letter yesterday to their Bihar counterpart to take over the investigation in the case, as the offence was committed in their jurisdiction, an official said, adding they are waiting for a reply from Bihar.
