In a unique way of inculcating policing values among the children, Goa police has started 'Little Police', a concept to be introduced across the state from next month.

"Police inspectors from respective stations will visit the schools and educate children about various aspects of policing. They will interact with the students. The children will also be given a police card," Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg told reporters here today.

He said the concept of 'Little Police' was suggested by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar during a recent interaction with the force.

Under the initiative, the parents would also be trained on how to keep a close watch on their children, considering the increasing advent of internet in the homes, he said.

"They will be sensitised towards dealing with vulnerability of the children towards cyber crimes and narcotics," he added.
