Highly placed sources said that crime branch officials including Deputy Superintendent of Police Nilu Raut Desai were present before the house committee with documents.
"The committee was not satisfied and asked for more documents," one of the members said.
It has given the police crime branch time until September 14, the member said.
The committee was formed during the recently held state assembly session to probe allegations of the alleged involvement of former home minister Ravi Naik's son Roy Naik in the drug trade.
During its first meeting, it had reviewed the entire situation and summoned Director General of Police Kishen Kumar and the then state home secretary Sanjay Srivastava to depose before it. Currently, Srivastava has been transferred out of Goa.
The committee had also issued media advertisements seeking help from the public to probe links of politicians to the drug trade.

A senior committee member said that they will also summon Ravi Naik's son Roy Naik for his statement, since Lucky Farmhouse, former girlfriend of Israeli national Yaniv Benaim alias Atala, who had exposed his links with politicians, had also named him.
Also, Fiona Mackowen, the mother of the British teenager Scarlet Eden Keeling who died in Goa, had also alleged that Roy was involved in the drug trade.
