Goa cabinet today resolved to adopt a land procurement policy which will give the state government power to take land on a lease for development projects.
Chief Secretary R K Sarasota said the new policy would do away with the requirement of acquiring the land, which is a time-consuming affair.
"The policy has been drafted under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The policy speaks about compensation at the market rate," he said.
