Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Anant Shet today disallowed the adjournment motion moved by the Opposition benches pending the no-confidence motion filed by them in the House, which would be taken up for discussion during the last week of the ongoing session.
Led by Leader of Opposition Pratapsinh Rane, the opposition benches had moved adjournment motion claiming "large-scale infringement of their rights and privileges" by the state government.
The motion stated that they can't take up burning issues related to the state on the floor of the House.

Giving his ruling on the motion, the Speaker refused to entertain it on the floor of the House pending a similar no-confidence motion moved by Opposition benches against the state government two days back.
The adjournment motion is ruled out as "financial business is being discussed during the current session, which attains priority," he said, adding there are various other ways for the Opposition benches to censure the ruling government.
Shet said the motion of no-confidence would be taken up for discussion in the Assembly during the last week of the current session. The session of the house ends on August 12.
