Goa to be promoted as expo, fair destination: Ajgaonkar

Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar has said that the state would be promoted as an international destination for exhibitions and fairs which will boost the tourism potential of the coastal state.

"The thrust would be given to promote Goa as a destination for exhibitions and fairs. This will boost the tourism sector in the state which has been growing every passing year," Ajgaonkar said after inaugurating the 31st edition of Food Hospitality World Exposition near here today.

"It will be the endeavourof the Governmentof Goa through the Departmentof Tourismtoprovide the right infrastructure forMeetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) tourismwhereinmegaexhibitions and fairs of national and international repute are held," said the minister.
 

Ajgaonkarsaid plansare being drawnup by the department of tourism forinitiating various projects in the State.They will be tabled in theHouseduring the forthcoming session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

The exposition is being held from June 1-3 near Panaji which will feature over 5,000 product categories and witness participation of over 300 international brands, alongside more than 7,000 industry professionals.
