Goa Tourism won the Best Eco-Tourism State Award at a recently held India International Travel Mart event held in Gurgaon, it was officially announced here today.
According to a press note issued here, the Goa Tourism stall depicted contemporary Goan architectural styles which attracted eyeballs from the travel trade and the public.
Reacting to the development, Goa Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said, "Goa is an attractive state for eco-tourism and its rich hinterlands offer the best getaways for tourists during monsoons as well as throughout the year".
"I am very happy to know that Goa has been honoured as the best state for eco-tourism. I congratulate my team of officials who worked tirelessly," he said.
