Goats killed in suspected attack by leopard, stray dogs

Nearly 15 goats were killed by a leopard and a pack of stray dogs in two villages in Mettupalayam and Tirupur near here in the wee hours of today, police said.

Six goats, tethered in a shed, were mauled by the big cat that strayed into a village at Mettupalayam, police said.

Hearing the bleats, the villagers got up and found the leopard attacking the goats. The wild animal ran away after seeing the villagers, police said.

Meanwhile, over 10 goats, owned by one Chinarasu, were found killed by stray dogs in a village in Tirupur, police said.
