GOC-in-C Eastern Command visits Tezpur

Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Eastern Command of Army Lt Gen Dalbir Singh today arrived at Air Force Station in Tezpur to review the security and flood situation in North East.

The GOC-in-C was received by GOC, Gajraj Corps Lt Gen Shakti Gurung at Air Force station and later visited some formations in the region for a first-hand update on several army initiatives.

Singh also reviewed the flood situation in the state and the prevailing security scenario with senior defence officials of the region, defence sources said here.

He also appreciated the wide spectrum of projects being undertaken under 'Operation Sadbhavana' for the local residents which include vision to the needy through cataract surgery, promotion of awareness amongst children through national integration tours to different parts of India and woman empowerment schemes.

 

He urged everyone to rededicate themselves and assist the local residents in the best possible way.
