After bringing back the famous monster alive in 'The Godzilla', director Gareth Edwards is set to helm a stand alone 'Star Wars' movie.
The director has been chosen to helm one of Disney's promised 'Star Wars' films that will stand alone from the planned trilogy that picks up where Return of the Jedi left off.
Edwards will direct the first stand-alone film, with a screenplay by Gary Whitta. The film is due out December 16, 2016, according to the 'Star Wars' official website.
