Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel today attacked Congress government for failing to control the spiralling prices of vegetables in the city.
"The prices of potatoes, tomatoes and onions are touching Rs 100 per kg mark. They have now become costlier than petrol or diesel. The common people are under unbearable burden as the food inflation is already touching 18 per cent to 19 per cent," Goel said in a statement.
He said vegetables have gone beyond the reach of middle and low income groups.

Terming the Congress Chief Minister and her Council of ministers as "insensitive", he asked why government was not stopping export of onions?
"Why the Delhi government didn't respond to NAFED's repeated requests of arranging supply of onions for Delhi through imports well in advance?," he said, adding "why Food and Civil Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf was not being sacked for failing to control prices and ensure enough supplies?"
He also questioned what action had been initiated against the government officials who were responsible for monitoring of prices and doing crisis management on price front.
"Why such poor quality onion which was not fit for human consumption was often provided through government run outlets?" he said.
