Gogoi also declared Dhekiajuli as martyrs' township during a function organised to pay tribute to the 13 people who were shot dead by British police in front of Dhekiajuli police station.
The police station was also declared a heritage site by the chief minister.
Out of the 13 people, 11 had been identified while the names of the remaining two -- a saint and a beggar -- could not be established.
"The government has decided to help the family members of the martyrs whose names will forever be etched in the pages of history," he said.
In another event in Nalbari, Union Minister for Department of North Eastern Region Paban Singh Ghatowar today unveiled a statue of another martyr Swahid Mukunda Kakati at Bihagi Kavi Raghunath Chaudhary Children's Park of Karia in Nalbari district.
