Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi expressed his condolence on death of former minister and Congress MLA Dinesh Prasad Goala today.
"He has always worked for the benefit and uplift of common people of the state. People will always remember his contribution," Gogoi said in an official release.
Goala's demise is a big loss to the state, he added.
Gogoi also expressed his sympathy to the family members of Goala.
Goala was representing the Lakhipur constituency of Cachar district in the current assembly.
He died this morning at a private hospital in Gurgaon, Haryana. He was shifted there from Silchar after a severe cardiac arrest.
